A bit about me

Although the title “Artist” was bestowed upon me by my kindergarten teacher, supportively clasping my tiny shoulders while I completed a squiggly self portrait by crayon, it took me a while to realize that it was a title I was worthy of. I loved drawing and intently taught myself to reproduce every Breyer horse in my collection. I drew the dog, flowers and our family cabin… It was just a way to self entertain, but my creative skills in school opened doors otherwise locked. It became a currency of sorts. Finally, the college years arrived and it was time to declare a major, so Art Studio it was. Even more years followed before I wore the title with pride, but with my education behind me I pursued any and all subjects that interested me to render and paint. With luck I finally I found clients and an understanding of what it truly meant to be, artiste.

I received my Bachelor of Arts from University of California at Davis, with a major in Art Studio. Studying under such well known artists as Wayne Thiebaud and Robert Arneson, my college years provided me with a wide range of artistic experiences, including life drawing, sculpture, printmaking, design and painting. Additionally, I have taken art classes at Santa Barbara City College, College of Marin and Santa Rosa Junior College.

I reside in Sonoma County, California and currently am in my ninth year as event artist and painter for Cruisin’ the Boulevard, Inc., an annual celebration of the movie, American Graffiti by George Lucas. A destination car show held in Petaluma, Ca., on the very streets where the movie was filmed, it has become a wonderful showcase for my paintings and a fun, mobile studio for a day of hob-nobbing with famous classic cars, Hollywood celebrities and some of the kindest, car-loving folks in the world.

My work is mostly acrylic on canvas, but I am well versed in most artistic medium, including graphic art, paper art and recently, fused glass. Please use my contact page to reach out to me for more information.

With great pride I have created this website to be an online portfolio and studio experience for interested parties. I appreciate you taking the time to visit. Cheers!
